Arrangements for children

Working out how to preserve parenting roles when a relationship has ended can be very difficult.

Circumstances also change over time such as when children begin to grow up and become more independent, or when a parent changes jobs or moves home.

We recognise the need to review regularly the arrangements put in place for the care and welfare of children, ensuring that they remain workable and child focussed.

Our mediators can help you talk through a wide variety of issues, for example:

• Where the children will live
• How the children will share their time between both parents
• Arrangements for holidays and special days, including travelling abroad
• Education and schooling
• Children’s relationships with their extended family, for example grandparents
• Child maintenance

Any agreements you make will be written up, as a parenting plan, for you to implement.

If both of you would like the parenting plan to be legally binding, we can write it in a way that will enable it to go to court and be turned into a consent order.
